Lord GermFet (dual overdrive - germanium + JFET)
The Lord GermFet is a tone-chasers dream. A dual overdrive pedal featuring 2 different types of low-to-medium gain overdrives that when combined can put some medieval hair on your chest. One side is a true germanium overdrive using 3 authentic Russian germanium transistors (a heavily modded version of the old TA-100 circuit), the other side is an amp-like JFET overdrive in the vein of a Fetzer Valve. Both sides have tons of tweakability & their order can even be flipped. The germanium side goes to 11, pushing the 3 germanium transistors near fuzz territory if needed, as well as a “vintage” mode that produces a more old-school buzzy overdrive tone (think "Satisfaction"). This is the dirt pedal to have if you were stranded on a desert island (or stranded in the studio).

The Lord GermFet is an analog dual overdrive pedal for the true tone-connoisseurs of the world. If the Atomic World Ender is a nuclear bomb, the Tyrannosaur MegaDriver is a ferocious beast, the Lord GermFet is a set of hand-crafted, precision chef’s knives made with the finest steel, able to cook up an endless array of juicy tones.
Both individual sides of the Lord focus on the low-to-medium range of the gain spectrum, but together, they are fully capable of some high-gain brutality. Consisting of 2 entirely independent pedal circuits with switchable order, the left side is a true germanium overdrive inspired by the underrated & unavailable TA-100 circuit. By “true” germanium, we mean not just clipping diodes—this circuit uses three vintage Russian germanium transistors to achieve its rich, creamy, downright sexy sound. The tone control acts as a high-cut filter when turned counter-clockwise, & the 3 voice options open up 3 diverse starting points when shaping your tone (Bass, Treble, & Vintage). Lastly, the overall gain can be lowered with an internal switch, & the circuit has been modified so at 100% gain those germanium transistors are pushed a bit harder into fuzz territory.
The right side of the Lord is a JFET overdrive circuit, a variation of the famous Fetzer Valve. It’s an incredibly amp-like, transparent, medium-gain overdrive that pairs superbly with almost any other gain pedal (but especially with the Germ side, of course). With the Presence switch engaged, it can be a useful treble boost to help the Germ side cut through the mix for a solo or brighten the tone of another pedal. It also sounds deliciously thick & thwompy when using your neck pickup—our personal go-to for blues or funk. We think a genuinely versatile pedal should be able to sound great on neck or bridge pickups, & the Presence switch & Voice options assure the Lord is worthy.
Between the germanium mojo, the JFET sparkle, & the infinite tones you can get combining & reversing them, the Lord GermFet is the gift that will keep on giving. A tone-chaser’s dream. A studio musician’s Swiss army knife. A Rock God’s lightning.

The Lord GermFet lives inside a durable yet beautiful sand-texture enclosure with pure aluminum knobs, gold-plated jacks, and a custom solid brass serial number plate. While supplies last, Hangman fx custom LED lenses contain fragments of rare artifacts inside them related to the pedal’s name. The LGF’s lens contains pieces of actual medieval chain mail dating back to the 15th Century.
